Conductors using alumosteel on their construction

Bimetallic Steel Clad Aluminum Wire

The bimetallic aluminum clad steel solid wire is made of cold drawn steel coated with pure aluminum through a continous cladding processed. This ensures perfect bonding between the two metals under all field conditions. The solid alumosteel wire comes in 20,3%, 30%, 40%, 47% and 53% IACS conductivity.

The alumosteel solid wire (AS) is also used in the making of AW, AWAC and ACSR/AW uninsulated conductors.

The alumosteel solid wire can also replace ACSR conductors on distribution lines providing both technical and financial advantages to the system. On solid AS wire provides excellent technical quality and less weight per kilometer when compared to ACSR conductors.

- Dimensions of Alumosteel

Like the coppersteel wire alumosteel is also theft proof due to its non-scrapping properties. Aluminum coating cannot be separated from steel.

IBRAP and Intelli Group company makes and sells all formed wire products used on alumosteel built lines. For more information, please, visit: www.ibrap.com.br
